FAQ's

Q: What is 'Dustless Blasting?

A: Dustless Blasting is a form of 'Media/Sand Blasting' used to eliminate paint, grime, rust, etc, without the harmful plumes of dust associated with other forms of media blasting - Mainly in part to our H20 & Media combination.

Q: Does this method harm the surface area?

A: NO! Unless the surface prepping area has already been damaged prior to stripping, this form of media blasting will not damage surface area including gel-coats on boats or light or soft metals.

Q: Will this etch the surface area for paint bonding?

A: Yes. While not as aggressive as other methods, the Dustless Blaster will not only clean or remove paint, but will etch the surface area allowing excellent bonding of primer or sealer.

Q: What is done to prevent 'Flash Rusting' during the wet blast process?

A: Flash rusting is an unpreventative occurance during media blasting, so to prevent 'Flash Rusting' we use an environmentally-friendly product called 'HoldTight 102®. This rust inhibitor is approved by all paint manufacturers and is paint ready anytime after the stripping has been completed. How this product works is that it removes and eliminates all oils, contaimenants & debris during the stripping process leaving the surface clean and contaminent-free. It is not recommended that you wash the surface area after stripping as this will immediately cause flash rusting.

Q: How long does the process take to finish?

A: Hard to say. This is not as quick and easy as some may think, but if you compare the time it would take you to try and strip by yourself, the process is equivalent to at least 10 men with hand tools and a finish you couldn't duplicate.

Q: Do you travel or do we have to bring our project to you?

A: At the moment we are strictly mobile, which means we travel to your home or site to perform all works. Bringing your project to someone will not only increase down-time, but will also increase your expenses for transportation and additional hours spent doing so.
